Purpose
The Professional Educator Standards Board (PESB) is convening a workgroup to review state policy regarding credentialing for educators of the blind and visually impaired.
The goal of this workgroup will be to formulate recommendations to the board on the following:
- Orientation and mobility specialty endorsement.
- Teacher of the visually impaired specialty endorsement.
- Technical review of WAC language related to the national assessment for Unified English Braille instruction.
Between meetings, workgroup members are encouraged to communicate with their organizations in order to receive input. Find policy background information on credentialing for educators of the blind and visually impaired.
